Jenia’s research interest spans across environmental history, political ecology, and transdisciplinary waters. She is investigating several large-scale global partnership grants looking at coastal livelihoods in delta ecologies of the global North and South. She is the author of Blue Infrastructures (Springer Nature, 2020), that demonstrates the intertwined relationship between city, nature, and technology in the making of Kolkata – the deltaic city located in the north of the Sundarbans. She is the recipient of the Rachel Carson Fellowship and DAAD grants (Germany), Australian Leadership Awards Fellowship, Salzburg-Nippon Award on Urban Research, French Embassy Award, etc. Her action-research designs have been recognized by K2A, TBTI and other global networks.
